Your Breast Health

Breast Health:

Breast Health:

Approximately 1 in every 8 women will develop breast cancer, and every 13 minutes a woman dies of it. Yes, 'breast cancer' are scary words indeed, and the statistics are even scarier. However, here we will focus on ways to possibly decrease our risks and have healthy breasts.

Check for unusual breast changes:

Women should do a monthly Breast self examination. The purpose of examining your breasts is to detect changes you haven’t noticed before. It is quite normal for most women to notice changes in their breasts during their monthly cycle but only you know what is normal for you. If you notice anything unusual, see your doctor. And remember, 9 out of 10 lumps are harmless. The breast is often naturally lumpy as a result of normal glandular changes.

Limit toxic exposure:

There is so much more to breast health today because of the toxic chemicals, hormones and stress that our bodies are subject to. Our exposure to both indoor and outdoor chemicals is widespread. Other agreed upon factors that may affect breast health are ionizing radiation, found in X-rays, CT scans, and other sources of radioactive materials.

Adopt a healthy lifestyle:

Based on current evidence, the World Health Organization reports that risk might be influenced by following some simple guidelines such as:

• Having fresh fruit and vegetables every day • Eating whole grains • Reducing weight • Limiting red meat • Restricting alcohol intake • Undertaking some brisk, physical activity every day.

Ensure that you obtain the information and support you need to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
